1. The service
Anchor is a parental control application designed for use by parents on devices used by their children. The product enforces app blocks, bedtime windows, and daily time limits at the device level, and alerts the paired parent device when a tamper attempt is detected on the child device.
By installing, accessing, or using Anchor (the "Service"), you ("you" or "User") agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, do not install or use the Service.
2. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any minor whose device the Service is installed on. By creating an Anchor account, you represent and warrant that:
- You meet the age requirement above.
- You are the parent or legal guardian of the minor whose device is being supervised, or you are an adult who owns the device and has the legal right to install the Service on it.
- The information you provide at signup is accurate and current.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
3. Subscription tiers
The Service is offered in two paid tiers, each with a 14-day free trial at signup. Pricing is in U.S. dollars and may be billed monthly or annually depending on the option you select at checkout. No payment method is required to begin the trial; billing begins on day 15 unless the trial is cancelled first.
Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period after the trial ends, until cancelled. Pricing for renewals is the price displayed at the time of renewal. We will notify you by email at least 30 days before any price increase that affects your subscription.
4. Founders offer
Founders offer. The first 100 customers to sign up for an Anchor account receive the Family Pro tier free for life, for as long as Anchor continues to operate the Service. In return, founders commit to sharing feedback within 15 days of receiving their Closed Testing invite.
The Founders offer is limited to one account per household. The offer covers Family Pro features. The offer is not transferable, has no cash value, and ends automatically once the 12th eligible account has been activated. The 12-spot ceiling matches the minimum tester count Google requires for Closed Testing. The lifetime nature of the offer is contingent on the continuing operation of the Service. If the Service is discontinued, the Founders offer terminates with it, and you receive the same notice period as all other users.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your subscription at any time from inside the Anchor parent app or by emailing support@getanchor.store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
- Monthly subscriptions. Cancel at any time. You retain access to paid features for the remainder of the paid period.
- Annual subscriptions. Cancel at any time. You retain access for the remainder of the paid period.
- 14-day refund window. If you cancel within 14 days of an initial purchase or a renewal, we issue a prorated refund for the unused portion of that billing period.
- After 14 days. No refunds are issued, but cancellation continues to stop the next renewal as described above.
- 14-day free trial. Anchor starts with a 14-day free trial at signup. No card is required to begin the trial. If you do not enter a payment method before the end of day 14, your account simply does not advance to billing. You may delete your account at any time during or after the trial by uninstalling the app and requesting account deletion as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Your responsibilities as a user
You agree to use Anchor only on devices that you own, or that you are legally authorized to monitor as the parent or legal guardian of the device's primary user.
You are responsible for:
- Configuring the Service appropriately for your family.
- Explaining the presence of the Service to the minor whose device it is installed on, in an age-appropriate way.
- Keeping your parent account credentials secure.
- Promptly removing the Service from a device if your legal authority to monitor that device ends (for example, if a child reaches the age of majority and revokes consent, or if guardianship changes).
7. Acceptable use
Anchor is a parental control product. It is not a covert surveillance tool. Use on any adult, or on any device you do not own and do not have the legal right to monitor as a guardian, is a serious violation of these Terms and likely a violation of state, federal, or international law.
You agree NOT to use the Service:
- To monitor any adult (any individual aged 18 or older).
- To monitor a partner, spouse, ex-partner, employee, household member, roommate, or any other adult, regardless of relationship.
- To stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or surveil any person.
- On a device that you do not own and that you are not legally authorized to monitor as a parent or legal guardian.
- In any way that violates applicable wiretapping, electronic surveillance, computer fraud, or stalking laws in your jurisdiction.
- To circumvent device security on a device that does not belong to you.
- To resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service.
- To attempt to reverse-engineer the Service or extract its source code, except where this restriction is expressly prohibited by applicable law.
8. Termination for abuse
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that we determine, in our reasonable judgment, has violated Section 7 (Acceptable use). Termination for acceptable use violations is immediate, without notice, and without refund for any unused portion of any subscription. We may also report misuse to law enforcement where the conduct involved appears to constitute a crime.
You may terminate your account at any time as described in Section 5 and our Privacy Policy.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including all software, branding, designs, copy, and documentation, is owned by Anchor and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Service on devices you control, in accordance with these Terms, for the duration of your subscription. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership interest in the Service to you.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While Anchor is engineered to be the strongest parental control on the market and to detect and block every common bypass, no software product can guarantee absolute prevention of every conceivable workaround on every device, in every operating system version, under every condition.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Anchor disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Anchor does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every tamper attempt will be detected in every circumstance.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Anchor, its operators, contractors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, or any other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
The total aggregate liability of Anchor for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees you paid to Anchor for the Service in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
13. Dispute resolution and arbitration
Please read this section carefully. It affects how disputes between you and Anchor are resolved.
Except for claims described in the carve-out below, you and Anchor agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration rather than in court. Arbitration is more informal than a lawsuit, uses a neutral arbitrator instead of a judge or jury, and allows for limited discovery.
- Arbitration administrator. The arbitration will be administered by a recognized arbitration provider under its consumer arbitration rules in effect at the time the claim is filed.
- Location. The arbitration will take place in the county where you reside, or remotely by telephone or video conference at your option.
- Class waiver. You and Anchor agree that disputes will be brought only in an individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative action.
- IP carve-out. Either party may bring an action in court for claims involving intellectual property rights (such as copyright, trademark, trade secret, or patent claims), claims for injunctive relief related to misuse of intellectual property, and small-claims court actions where the claim qualifies.
If any portion of this Section 13 is found unenforceable, that portion is severed and the remainder of the section continues in effect.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms over time. If we make material changes, we will notify the email address associated with your active account at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree, your remedy is to cancel your subscription and stop using the Service before the effective date.
Non-material changes (typo fixes, clarifications, formatting updates) may be made without notice. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
